Christian Bale, one of Hollywood's most notorious method actors, has once again shocked the world with his drastic weight transformation.
The "Batman" actor has gained and lost huge amounts of weight for films like "The Machinist" and "American Hustle," but he looked barely recognizable for his role as Dick Cheney in the upcoming biopic "Backseat."
Appearing at a Beverly Hills press conference, Bale sported a shaven head and was much bigger than before. When asked how he managed to put on so much of weight, Bale, who was present at the Toronto Film Festival, said, "I've just been eating a lot of pies."
The movie sees Bale reunite with 'The Big Short' director Adam McKay and actor Steve Carell, who will play Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. 'Backseat' also stars Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney, while Sam Rockwell and Bill Pullman will play George W. Bush and Nelson Rockefeller.
