Since 1997, Marudhanayagam has been Kamal Haasan’s dream project. This period film called for a lavish budget of many crores to recreate the scenario. The film however ran into problems at different points both financial and other constrains too.
The recent buzz was that Kamal was in talks with Lyca Productions to fund it. At the recent Cannes Festival in France, posters and stills of Marudhanayagam were put up on display. There is no official confirmation yet but looks like this is a step in that direction.
